The proposed rules would allow for the group registration of multiple works of two-dimensional artwork, such as illustrations, paintings and drawings in a single application. This means that instead of filing individual copyright applications for each individual work of art, under the proposed rules, you can submit a single application to cover a group of related works. In the past, group registrations were limited to collective works, bundled works, photographs, various unpublished works, newspapers, newsletters, periodicals, database updates and testing materials. Up until now, painters, graphical artist and illustrators could not submit their work as a group registration.
